And for a second, I questioned everything. Was I too much? Did I go too far?

But the truth is: I was finally being me. Not watered down. Not shrink-wrapped in “palatable” packaging. Just real, raw, radiant.

And the wildest thing happened—new women found me.
Women who celebrate the unfiltered version of me.
Who cheer me on just because.
Women who get it.

In 2014, I was a newly single mom, waiting tables to survive the off-season.
The hours were unstable. The schedule wasn’t mine. The life didn’t feel like mine, either.

Then I saw a Facebook ad for a social media master’s program.
I had no clients, no plan, and no backup—but I enrolled anyway.

It was the biggest investment I’d made in myself—besides my student loans.
I didn’t tell anyone. I was scared. But something told me this was mine.

I did my homework at Starbucks between shifts.
I logged into trainings with my kids in my lap.

And for the first time in a long time, I felt like I was building a future I controlled.

That was the moment I tasted time freedom.
Working from coffee shops when my kids were with their dad.
Owning my hours.
Building something that could support us.

Even though I’ve since retired that agency, the feeling of that moment—the independence, the fulfillment, the freedom—became my non-negotiable.

And it’s now the core of everything I do.

I recently took the cheap way out, and it backfired hard. Not only was it a scam, but it completely disrupted my nervous system.

Over the last year, I’ve been taking a lot of very calculated risks in business. But this moment made me revert to old fears—old stories about why I needed to penny-pinch. My grandfather always said, ‘You get what you pay for,’ and when he came through during a recent session with @thealchemizedlotus , I knew exactly what he was going to say. He always saw the magnitude of impact I was meant to create. Both my grandfathers did actually! And I’m so grateful to have them still cheering me on from the other side.

So now I invite you to look around at your own life—where are you playing it safe?

Is it actually the smart choice for right now, or are you letting past failures, stories, and fear keep you playing small?

All of this stuff is such a natural part of my life that it was recently brought to my attention that I don’t talk about it enough.

Some of you may not know that I:

Got comfortable on TV sets by the time I was 6.
Was an equity actor on stage by the time I was in third grade.
Sat in board room meetings for live events starting at 12.
Studied theater and film acting all through college
And of course, as an adult, got a degree in media and worked in the industry ever since.

Not pictured (because I’m a professional and photos/videos on set are a big no-no)
Countless celebrities I have working relationships with, countless movie & tv sets I’ve worked on.

So why am I telling you all of this?

Because if you want to be a media personality, host your own tv show, get yourself media mentions, paid speaking engagements….anything in the spotlight.

I say this with love -

YOU CANNOT JUST FAKE IT TIL YOU MAKE IT if you want to be taken seriously in this industry.

It’s hard.
It’s confusing.
It’s all about relationships.
It requires a level of professionalism (that means no B Roll most of the time, lol)

But it’s possible AND available to you when we work together, superstar 🌟

One thing I prioritize as a keynote speaker and event producer: GOING to other events!!!

In-person is how I grow my network with intention and how I create connection & collaboration 🤝👏⚡️ and fill my cup of course!

My major takeaways were that I’m not alone in feeling like I’m afraid to fail, but hearing so many women be vulnerable about their journeys was the fire I needed to go bigger, harder, and take up even more space!

My favorites were @morgandebaun and @loriharder and @briellecotterman ‘s entire panel 👏

Special thanks to @loriharder for taking the time to answer my questions and give me some creative ideas for my new brick & mortar in the works!

Andddd thanks to my girl @iamhollystarr for spending the day with me and being my hype woman and content creator.
